Organic Blue Hopi Cornmeal, 5 lbs., Fresh Stone Ground, Farmer Direct, non-GMO (5 lb)

Organic Blue Hopi flour corn grown on our farm in Grundy county, Illinois. The corn has never left the farm. It was grown, harvested, cleaned and ground here. It's non-GMO and certified organic. My favorite corn choice for cornbread and grits. The whole kernel, germ included, are left in for better taste and nutrition; though it does then need to be refrigerated (or frozen) if stored for an extended period of time. NOTE: Our blue corn kernels are so soft we only ever grind them at a coarse setting. For our blue corn, both our blue grits and the blue cornmeal are the same product. The corn is soft enough to be used for baking purposed or for making grits (though the grits are typically more of a gruel, since the kernel is so soft) Allergy Notice: Our farm uses some of the same machinery to harvest and handle corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, buckwheat and field peas
